Severe weather kicked off this afternoon and evening as a strong low pressure system moved across the plains of Kansas on May 18, 2017. Numerous reports of tornadoes, supercell thunderstorms, and strong winds were reported across the state.

1-2. Time lapse of a tornado warned supercell thunderstorm ominously moving towards Great Bend Kansas.
3. Real time shot of the massive supercell thunderstorm with vigorous cloud movement.
4-5. A tornado touches down near St. John, KS (approx 10 miles south of Great Bend, KS).
6-8. Multiple vortices of a confirmed tornado 11 miles west of Great Bend Kansas.
